Ginny is an experienced
project coordinator/manager who has worked
extensively in the non-profit sector for the
past 10 years. She has worked in British
Columbia as the Director of Youth for Metis
Nation BC, Project Manager for the Society of
Children and Youth of BC, and Provincial Youth
Coordinator for the Metis Nation of Ontario. For
the past 7 years she has been self-employed as
an independent contractor with various
consultants and organizations, this has included
6 years with the BC Centre of Excellence for
Women’s Health (BCCEWH) assisting the Director
of Knowledge Translation on various projects
related to women, girls, substance use, trauma
and mental health. She has also worked with Sue
Howard Inc. Consulting based in Surrey, BC on
developing a provincial First Nations specific
prescription drug use community awareness
curriculum for the Alberta First Nations. Most
recently, she has completed a program evaluation
for the Metis Nation of Ontario’s province-wide
Metis-specific post-secondary student network.
Ginny completed a BA Women’s Studies and History
at Carleton University and has a particular
interest in program development, evaluation and
knowledge translation in the areas of women,
child/youth, Aboriginal and LGBTQ. She enjoys
developing practical tools and resources,
literature and web searches, interviewing,
facilitating and writing.
Ginny is a proud Metis, feminist and LGBTQ ally.
She has spent recent years living in Vancouver,
Toronto and is now based in Ottawa with her
partner and one-year old daughter.
